PERKINS TWP.

A new program in Erie County that helps ex-cons get jobs and lead responsible lives is looking for a local manufacturer willing to give such people a chance.

Dan Phillip, executive director and founder of the Transformation Network, explained his Ashland-based group has been under contract with Erie County Job and Family Services since October and has had 75 people referred to the program so far.

Phillip briefed Erie County commissioners on the program during Thursday's meeting at the County Services Center.

Phillip said his group, founded in 1999, has been able to find manufacturers in Ashland and Huron counties who have been willing to give his clients a chance, but is still looking for an Erie County manufacturer willing to work with the program.
