PORT CLINTON

A Port Clinton woman was arrested Tuesday night and taken to Erie County jail after she allegedly beat up a male acquaintance and drove off in his van.

Amber M. Means, 40, 2600 block of E. Harbor Blvd., Port Clinton, was charged with assault and theft.

Officers responded to a call from a home oi the 400 block of Boston Road.They found a 47-year-old man whose face was bloodied and swollen.

The man said in the police report Means was sleeping in his bed and he on the couch. When he decided he wanted to sleep on the bed and laid next to Means, he said she hit him in the face at least 20 times.

Means was later found with the man's van at a Clarion Inn where she was arrested. Police said she told them the man must have fallen, but she had permission to use the van. The man signed the charges at the hospital.
