The holidays: For some it’s the best time of the year, a time to eat a bunch of good food and spend time with friends and family. For those of us that took the oath and stepped up for our country it’s not exactly the easiest time of the year. This was my second consecutive holiday season I spent away from those who care the most for me. I think my mom is more affected by that than me.

But this holiday season was different. I came down to my shop for another shift filled with problems and headaches and there was this stack of mail on the table. I asked, who’s the lucky person that got all this mail? To my surprise it was almost all for me. A couple of days later I had another stack waiting for me. I called home and asked my mom, who are these people that sent me cards and letters? That’s when she told me what the Register did. I was going to try to write back to everybody but things are heating up over here and my shifts are getting a little busier so I asked the Register for help in thanking everyone.

In no particular order: the Fenwicks, Molly J. Dean, Dick and Jeanette Gundrum, Deb and Katherine Gauthier, John and Marlyin Parker, Jane Wiggins, The Kaman’s, John-Rita-and Joanna Phillips, Jenna Beverick and family, Jim and Penny Williams, Thomas Neill, Miss Velma Erfurth, Latisha from the Mills school, Ceil and Andy Frisari, Miriam Bickley, Sharon Balduff, George and Roselinda, Randal Snook, Esther Peters, The Meyers, Joe and Margaret Catania (don’t worry about Jimmy; the reason we are here is to be on call for air support for the troops whenever they need it) and finally the Hahns. If I didn’t mention someone, I am sorry, but the mail does have to travel a long way to get to me. To everyone I say a humble thank you for brightening what was just another day of flight operations and for all of your support. To my family and loved ones, I just wanted to say hi and I am all right. I miss you guys more and more every day and you guys are my strength when I get frustrated and down. I will see you all in a little while.

Last but not least the Register for putting my address and for this chance to say thank you
