It is about time that the Sandusky School system starts educating its students about proper usage of crosswalks and other pedestrian violations. I have either been riding or driving in a car for the past 12 years to St. Mary’s for school. At any given moment a student from Jackson, and students from St. Marys, will just run out in front of traffic.
It is amazing to see that eighth graders cant even follow the rules of simple traffc crossing laws. Cross when the opposite street turns red, walk on the crosswalk. If a car is coming in your direction dont run out in front of it.
Yet in the past two days I have driven home from school I have had two incidents where I have had to slam my brakes and honk my horn to avoid hitting them. I have only been driving for a little over a year now but thankfully I have been driving very cautiously. It is good to hear that this problem should be coming to end with stricter police enforcement and a possible education program. I find it to be a good thing, but in a way embarassing to know teenagers can't even cross a road properly.
