Margaretta finished second overall Saturday at the eight-team Ashland Mapleton Dual Tournament, going 2-1 in individual pool play.
The Polar Bears, 4-3 on the season in dual meets, beat Willard, 38-36, downed Cloverleaf 42-21, and lost to Ontaro, 45-33.
From there, Margaretta beat Wooster -- the top finisher from the opposite pool -- 33-25, setting up a rematch with Ontario that saw the Warriors emerge with a 46-36 decision.
"It was a total team effort today. Even the kids that got beat fought hard and saved valuable team points," head coach Keith Taylor said.
Heavyweight Charlie Chesser overcame a loss by fall to state-qualifier Bryan Eyerly of Ontario in the first dual, then beat him 5-2 in the finals rematch.
