Leslie Raifsnider was 33-of-34 hitting with 10 kills to lead the Lady Red to a sweep of Perkins, 25-22, 25-10, 25-18 in Bellevue.
Bellevue (1-0) setters Tricia Schoen and Kristen Wooten were a combined 98 of 100 with 15 and 13 assists, respectively. Brooke Taylor led the Lady Red defense with 18 digs, followed by Raifsnider with 11 and Hannah Lilly with 10.
Monroeville dominates tri: The Eagles scores a pair of lopsided victories in a tri-match against Ontario and Shelby Saturday.
Monroeville (2-0) started with a two-set victory over Ontario, 25-11, 25-11. Brookie Barnett led with seven aces and five kills for the Eagles, followed by Quinn Schafer with four aces. Jamie Kluding and Cheyanna Littlejohn scored five kills apiece on a combined 12-for-12 hitting.
Brylie Schafer racked up 14 kills in the Eagles' 25-8, 25-14 victory over Shelby. Kluding was 18-for-19 hitting with 10 kills.
Schaffer was an efficient 83 for 85 setting with 43 assists in both matches combined.
South Central 3, SMCC 2: SMCC played well, byt not grat, head coach Julie Meyers said after a non-conference loss to the Trojans.
Katy Glovinsky led SMCC with 15 kills on 30-of-25 hitting, and Bridget Murphy was 22 of 27 hitting with 12 kills, 10 digs and eight points serving.
Danbury 3, Woodward 0: The Lakers opened with a three-game sweep of Toledo Woodward in a non-conference match, 25-7, 25-8, 25-16.
For Danbury, Erin Lavelle finished with seven kills and two blocks at the net while adding an ace serving. Kelsey Clemons added 10 assists and three kills while finishing 14-of-16 serving with six aces.
