Huron squeaks out win over St. Mary CC

At Fabens Park in Huron, the Tigers pulled out a pair of three-set victories over the Panthers in a 3-2 win Thursday.

Huron's Nos. 2 and 3 singles players, Brittany Mayer and Lynsie Schwerer, won each of their respective matches in the third set. Mayer defeated Sarah May, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, while Schwerer bounced back from a first-set loss to Noelle DeRiso for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win.

Huron's No. 1 doubles tandem of Carolyn Stierhoff and Caitlin Foley defeated SMCC's Giselle Spadaro and Collette DeRiso, 6-2, 6-2 for the Tigers' third point.

For the Panthers, Armelle DeRiso scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Erin Black in No. 1 singles, while the duo of MaKenna and Keeleigh Myers defeated Huron's Emily Waldrop and Lily Justus at No. 2 doubles.

Huron improved to 2-1 (1-1 Sandusky Bay Conference), while SMCC fell to 1-3 (0-2).
