Edison was in search of its first goal of the regualr season Monday afternoon against Sandusky after the Chargers were held scoreless in their first two games.
Olivia Schmitke ended the drought and the Chargers scored twice more in a 3-0 win against Sandusky, giving Edison its first win of the year and handing the Streaks their first loss.
“We struggled in the first half and gave up three goals in pretty quick order. It was too big of a hole,” Sandusky coach Mark Fogg said. “Defensively, we responded in the second half. We didn’t do a very good job of controlling the ball on offense. We have a lot of work to do offensively. We were letting Edison, in the first half, do what they wanted to do.”
Schmitke’s goals — the first and third of the game — were unassisted tallies. Cassie Harper set up Michelle Johnston’s goal.
Rachel Kileypicked up her second shutout of the fall after blanking Rossford in a 0-0 tie.
Norwalk 2, Medina Buckeye 2
Jamison Foos was the go-to-guy for Norwalk in a road game that ended in a draw. The Truckers had an 11-3 shots on goal advantage, but couldn't secure the win. They remain unbeaten, though (1-0-2).
