League coaches gave top awards to Sandusky senior Brandi Strachan and head coach Mark Fogg.
The Greater Buckeye Conference, which concluded its final season in girls soccer, also voted on the all-conference teams. Sandusky had three other players on that team in addition to Strachan, who was chosen as the co-Player of the Year.
Strachan, who will enlist in the Air Force next fall, was the anchor of a Sandusky defense that recorded a school-record eight shutouts.
"When she was a sophomore, we had her playing offense for the first half of the season and we were 1-6-2. We moved her to defense and went 5-2-1 the rest of the way that year," said Fogg, who was tabbed the league's coach of the year. "She has been a fixture back there ever since and with her at the defensive end for the last two-and-a-half seasons, our record is 20-17-5. She is absolutely the heart and soul of our soccer program and is going to be dearly missed as a leader, teammate and friend."
