Headline: Dewine cries 'smear'

"Mr. DeWine, if you believe you are being smeared, there is a solution. Just simply answer the questions and tell the whole truth and stop the coverup."
Sal Dali says
"In all likelihood, the intern is probably worried she will be blackballed by the AG and/or his cohorts and her college education will have been for naught. His office gives off the air they do not have drive nor compassion unless the situation directly affects one or more of them. Biased not just resolutions in cases like the naked female inmate taunted by deputies, multiple deaths caused by LE and accidents and incidents that should have had brand new thorough investigations instead of thorough look through's of old evidence or lack there of. That is only in Sandusky county...is this occurring statewide? It really does not sound like a smear campaign, it sounds about on target.
He lost my vote when I read about his campaign contributions from the guy that bilked citizens out of a hundred million dollars in the name of our veterans. He didn't return the money and avoided testifying (tampabay.com-link). His integrity isn't any better than the guy who scammed his constituents to get it. It's one thing to read about crooked politicians in other places but when it hits home like this we should all be seriously wondering if this is the best we can do for our state attorney general. We can do better IMO.

"1) The legal intern was about to take the bar exam and there is no doubt in my mind that she would be black balled from any significant future employment with government or law firms by a DeWine.
2) Yes, the problem of selective investigations and prosecutions of politically connected persons is a statewide problem and occurs with both parties. It is a result of Ohio's strong home rule in the state constitution and the lack of a transparent/ independent state wide public corruption investigatory body with jurisdiction over all government servants and officials as both parties do not want to be subject to independent review.
Finally, there have been rumors for years in the legal industry that DeWine was co-opted/compromised decades ago by a form of organized crime that permeates government.
