50 years ago, 1964: Returning to Cedar Point for the first time since the 1930 Big Band days, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong played old and new favorites for an estimated crowd of 2,500 at the Cedar Point ballroom. George Mayer of WLEC was the announcer on the radio broadcast aired on the Mutual Network.

25 years ago, 1989: A high-ranking, decorated agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration was arrested in a sting operation with 62 pounds of cocaine and charged with possession and intent to distribute. The agent was arrested at Logan International Airport in possession of suitcases filled with cocaine.
