50 years ago, 1964: Barone's Impala Room was hosting America's Polka King, Frank Yankovic and his orchestra in person. Frank was America's No. 1 TV and Recoding Polka star and had been on the Johnny Carson show.
25 years ago, 1989: Rev. Jerry Falwell, founder of the Moral Majority, said he would dissolve the religious lobbying group because it had achieved its goal of prodding religious conservatives into the political arena.
10 years ago, 2004: Sandusky's fallen hero, Army SPC. Charles Odums II, was remembered by hundreds who turned out to honor his life - and his death. More than 1,000 people lined city streets waving flags and holding signs to honor Sandusky's first fallen soldier from the war in Iraq.
