50 years ago, 1964: The Sandusky High School graduated a class of 377, the largest in the history of the school. And the smallest in the foreseeable future, according to Superintendent Wallace Glenwright. "There will be 100 more three years from now."
25 years ago, 1989: Appealing to the Chinese government to stop its "violent and bloody" attacks on student demonstrators, President Bush suspended U.S. military sales to China and warned of more significant economic sanctions if the repression continued.
10 years ago, 2004: Ronald Reagan, 93, the cheerful crusader who devoted his presidency to winning the Cold War, trying to scale back government and making people believe it was "morning again in America," died after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
