50 years ago, 1964: Auto maker Henry Ford II said he would support President Johnson for reelection no matter whom the Republicans nominated. Ford said his vote for Johnson would be his first for a Democratic presidential candidate.
25 years ago, 1989: Two Florida elementary school students were charged with grand theft after they slipped $10,100 into their pants during a field trip to a bank where they were taken to a vault to "look at the money and touch it."
10 years ago, 2004: Alternative medicines - including yoga, meditation, herbs and the Atkins diet - appeared to be growing in popularity in the U.S., perhaps because of dissatisfaction with conventional care. More than a third of American adults used such practices.
