A slew of Fremont residents awoke May 10 to discover vandals had spray-painted profanities and nonsensical symbols on their vehicles.

Fremont police Chief Tim Wiersma said there are currently no suspects.

Starting at about 7:30 a.m., police began receiving calls from residents on Hayes Avenue, South Wayne Street, South Ewing Street, Birchard Avenue and South Clover Street. The vandals used silver spray-paint to draw squiggly lines, cuss words and such on the hoods and doors of the vehicles.

The damaged vehicles included a 1999 Chevy Cavalier; a 2013 Kia Forte; a 2003 GMC Yukon; a 2008 Hyundai Accent; a 1999 Dodge; a 2001 Dodge Caravan; a 1994 Chevy S10; a 1999 Pontiac; and a 1998 Chevy Venture.
