Walmart executives recently informed city officials they’ll front company dollars to install two shuttle shelters: one on store property, on Milan Road near Ohio 2, and another undermined spot along a SPARC route.

Earlier this year, city officials installed four long-awaited shuttle shelters at a quartet of popular spots. They received a grant, totaling about $68,000, to install these 5-by-12 shelters, each offering concrete floors, seating, a skylight roof and a trash receptacle.

It’s assumed the shuttle shelters Walmart wants will cost and look similar to the ones already installed. City officials also continue negotiations with other representatives from local governments benefiting from transit operations.

City officials want others to front funds for additional shelters.
