A Sandusky man was arrested Saturday for a January incident in which he allegedly held a woman at knifepoint in her home.
Kevin Alexander, 29, of the 900 block of Franklin St., was arrested on indictments for felonious assault, kidnapping and domestic violence.
Alexander was visiting the Fallen Timber Drive home of the mother of his children Jan. 13 when he became angry because she and the children were about to leave, according to a Sandusky police report.
As the woman made her way to the door, Alexander allegedly pulled out his pocket knife and ordered her into the bedroom. He told her to sit on the bed or he’d kill her, the report said.
Alexander then allegedly slapped the woman and tossed her around the room. The woman went to sleep, but when she awoke, Alexander was still in the room. When another man called her cellphone, Alexander allegedly began assaulting the woman again. He punched her, pulled her hair and choked her, the report said.
When the woman tried to exit the room, Alexander pulled her back in and continued the assault. He then sent their children into the room and told them to “tell Mommy you love her because she’s about to die” the report said.
The woman jumped out a window and ran to a neighbor’s house for help, but Alexander caught up to her and dragged her back to the home, the report said.
Later, he apologized and allowed her out of the room to watch TV.
The woman reported the incident the next day and police noticed bruising on her arms, back, chest and shin.
Alexander was arrested at the home later that day on charges of domestic violence, assault, unlawful restraint and aggravated menacing.
An Erie County grand jury indicted Alexander on the assault and kidnapping charge in early February, but he was not located until Saturday, according to jail records.
He is now being held in the Erie County jail on $70,000 bond.
