Sandusky police are investigating an alleged sex offense involving a 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl.
The incidents occurred at the children’s Huron Avenue home, where they both live with their parents who are dating, Sandusky police Detective Ken Nixon said. During interviews, the girl said the alleged acts never occurred.
The boy has yet to be interviewed, as he remains in the Erie County Detention Home on unrelated charges, Nixon said. Investigators plan to meet with the boy at a later date to conduct a formal interview.
According to Ohio law, anyone who engages in sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 13 can be charged with rape.
