If you owe money for library fines, the Milan-Berlin Township Public Library is willing to forgive and forget, in return for a favor.
On Monday only, the library is forgiving fines of up to $10 per account for library patrons who donate either a new book — preferably a children’s book — or a coloring book and a set of crayons.
Fines cannot be forgiven for materials from other CLEVNET libraries or for lost materials.
Sorry, but that’s just unforgivable, said Vikki Ritchey, who handles marketing for the library.
The fine forgiveness day was set up to help the library celebrate National Library Week, which starts Sunday.
