New roller coaster for Cedar Point

50 years ago, 1964: A new roller coaster featuring an 80-foot plunge was being rushed to completion in time for the May 23 opening day at Cedar Point. The Blue Streak replaced the Cyclone roller coaster that was dismantled 12 years prior.
25 years ago, 1989: President Bush testily refused to discuss a disclosure in the Oliver North trial that he played a role in secret efforts to help the Contras after Congress barred U.S. aid to the rebels.
10 years ago, 2004: Little Tikes unveiled its newest toy, the Hummer H2 SUV, a battery powered car that featured a forward-tilt hood, chrome grill and a 'radio' with a five-song play list, cost was $250. The Adventure Series had fog lights, running boards and walkie talkies for $300.
