50 years ago, 1964: The Supreme Court, trying to determine for a second time whether the French movie "The Lovers" was obscene and could be banned in Ohio, would view the film - again. The court could not reach a decision after the first viewing in late March.
25 years ago, 1989: Activist and Kent Sate University graduate Alan Canfora was one of nine students wounded in the May 4 shootings on the campus. He spoke at Firelands College about his efforts to build a suitable memorial to the shootings in 1970.
10 years ago, 2004: the East Sandusky Bay Preserve MetroParks was 155 acres larger. The Trust for Public Land and the Erie MetroParks announced their fourth land acquisition in an effort to create the East Sandusky Bay Preserve along the Lake Erie shoreline.
