Two residents heard several gunshots on East Perkins Avenue Wednesday night but police were unable to find the source, according to a Perkins police report.
A Perkins Avenue resident and Lynn Drive resident both dialed 911 around 9:30 p.m. to report shots fired near the intersection of Remington and Perkins avenues.
One caller heard the first shot, then a pause followed by four more shots. The second caller told officers it sounded as if a.22 caliber handgun was being fired, the report said.
The Perkins Avenue man — who lives in the 1400 block — said his exterior motion lights activated at about the same time the shots were fired but was unsure if an animal may have triggered them, the report said.
Officers scoured the area but came up empty-handed, finding no shell casings and no suspects, Perkins police Chief Ken Klamar said.
