Vandals slinging rocks damaged at least two cars and a home Sunday night near the Milan Road overpass.

Officers responded to a 12th Street home Sunday at about 10 p.m. after a resident reported people throwing rocks at a home, according to a Sandusky police report. Several rocks were scattered in the home’s yard, and officers quickly learned they’d been picked up from the nearby set of railroad tracks. Officers followed footprints along the tracks to the Chelsea Court Apartments on Milan Road.

There they found several more of the same rocks scattered around the apartment’s parking lot, the report said. The rear windows of a parked Suzuki and Kia both were shattered by the rocks, while one of the vehicle’s windshields was “spider-webbed,” the report said.

A nearby resident told police he overheard a man and woman walking along the tracks at about 9 p.m. He heard the woman say “What the (expletive) are they going to do about it anyway?”

Officers searched the surrounding area, but never located the vandals.
