A Sandusky man allegedly broke into a woman’s Campbell Street home early Monday morning and assaulted her with a cooking pot, a broken table and drinking glasses.
Tywuan Davis, 29, of the 800 block of Wayne St., is facing charges of aggravated burglary, disrupting public service, assault, theft and two counts of criminal damaging.
The woman heard glass break at about 5 a.m. Monday and emerged from her room to find Davis inside her kitchen. He had punched through a window, reached inside the home and unlocked the front door to let himself in, according to a Sandusky police report.
Once inside, an irate Davis began throwing the woman around her living room, the report said, and he broke a wooden table and used it to repeatedly strike her body.
“I’m going to kill you (expletive)” a neighbor heard Davis say.
Davis then shattered several drinking glasses on the floor, and the shards of glass caused cuts to the woman’s cheek, armpit and shoulder. He continued wrestling and striking the woman, using what she believed was a cooking pot to strike the back of her head, the report said.
“You didn’t think I would find out who called the cops?” he kept yelling. The woman told police Davis was angry she went out the night before with a group of friends.
He took her phone so she couldn’t call for help, then ran to the kitchen where he sifted through drawers and began pulling out kitchen knives, the report said. The woman pounded on her floor in hopes a neighbor would come to her aid, but she finally managed to lock herself in a room.
A neighbor exited his apartment just as Davis bolted from the home. The woman later discovered her car window had been shattered as well.
Officers were unable to locate Davis on Monday following the attack, so they issued warrants for his arrest.
