Boy attacks police, charged with felony

Officers were summoned to the 100 block of West Shoreway Drive for dispute between neighbors.

The incident quickly escalated when several underage people allegedly consumed alcohol — and one person claimed someone had been raped.

When police checked for underage people and searched for a possible rape victim and suspect, one officer noticed a 17-year-old boy in a back bedroom. The officer told the boy he was under arrest, but the boy didn’t comply.

The boy became combative, swinging his fists and striking Officer Michael Schock in the face, according to a police report. Schock then sprayed the boy in the eyes to distract him. Officers used “reasonable force” to restrain the boy.

In addition to the assault on a police officer charge, officers also arrested the boy for underage consumption and resisting arrest.

An officer later found the alleged rape victim, but she denied any improper sexual activity.

Two other people also received charges for underage consumption. They were Christian C. Ewers, 18, 100 block W. Shoreway Drive; and Peter M. Fortner, 18, 2600 block Tiffin Ave.
