Patrick Grohe, 31, 1000 block Tiffin Ave., was charged with felony domestic violence and aggravated menacing, as well as misdemeanor assault and two counts of child endangering.
At about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Grohe’s girlfriend awoke to Grohe punching and kicking her, according to a Sandusky police report.
She and her two young sons fled their Tiffin Avenue apartment and used a neighbor’s phone to call police, the report said.
Officers went back to Grohe’s home to serve his charges and found him in a bedroom, where he promptly began to resist arrest, the report said.
Officers forcibly detained Grohe, who then threatened them, the report said.
Grohe’s domestic violence charge was upgraded to a felony because of previous domestic violence convictions, the report said.
He remains in the Erie County jail on $33,000 bond.
