25 years ago, 1988: Five armed Soviet hijackers who traded a bus load of children for $2 million in U.S. cash and an airplane ordered the craft to Israel and surrendered minutes after landing, officials said.
10 years ago, 2003: Sandusky received a $3 million grant from the Clean Ohio Fund to develop its blighted waterfront. The grant money meant the city could proceed with its proposed Paper District project of combined condominiums, retail and marina.
