An argument between brothers ended with one slashing the other’s hand Wednesday morning at their grandmother’s house in Huron.
Timothy Hofer, 22, of the 500 block Westport Blvd., was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.
Hofer’s grandmother called Huron police to her home Wednesday just a few minutes before 10 a.m., according to a Huron police report.
When officers arrived, Hofer’s 33-year-old brother stood outside, clutching his hand. Police soon learned the siblings had been arguing when Hofer grabbed a medieval halberd spearhead replica and used it to slash his brother’s right palm, the report said.
The brothers’ grandmother informed officers she had not witnessed the confrontation play out, the report said.
Hofer’s brother refused treatment from paramedics, then provided officers a written statement about the incident. They confiscated the weapon, along with an electrical test tool Hofer carried in his pocket, the report said.
The younger Hofer was taken to the Erie County jail and held without bond.
