Christopher Ruff, 34, 1000 block Perry St., was charged with felony forgery, burglary and two counts of theft.

Ruff was picked up on a theft warrant for allegedly stealing 10 suboxone pills on Monday, but when detectives questioned him, he also admitted stealing the checks from his grandfather, according to a Sandusky police report.

On Oct. 26, Ruff’s mother went to Sandusky police after she learned her son had stolen checks from her 76-year-old father, the report said.

When she checked her father’s account activity, she discovered eight checks had been written out to her son. She also noted how the handwriting and signatures on those checks were different that her father’s writing, the report said.

Ruff copped to the forgeries and said he’d already cashed the checks, the report said.

Ruff was taken to the Erie County jail and held on $50,000 bond.
