Travis Clinton, 33, 400 block E. Washington St., was charged with drug trafficking, ecstasy possession, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and obstruction.

The trafficking charge was upgraded to a second-degree felony because Clinton was within 1,000 feet of a school.

Officers spotted Clinton riding his bicycle without lights at West Jefferson and Pearl streets at about 1 a.m. Saturday, according to a Sandusky police report. They watched him meet up with a woman known to abuse drugs, then slip out of view with her behind a building. The pair then emerged and left in opposite directions.

Officers tried to stop Clinton, but he began to pedal away. When they finally caught up to him, Clinton resisted his arrest, the report said. Inside his jacket pocket officers found a bag containing 10 suspected ecstasy tablets.

Clinton remains in the Erie County jail on $37,600 bond.
