David B. Linden, 52, of Sandusky, was driving a Ford Escape north on Ohio 598 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with County Road 330, the sheriff’s report said.

The Escape struck a GMC Sierra that was traveling west on County Road 330. The vehicles traveled off the northwest corner of the intersection, striking a utility pole and stop sign.

All occupants of both vehicles were taken to Galion Hospital. The driver of the Sierra, Paul D. Houk, 73, of Bucyrus, was taken by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he was pronounced, the sheriff’s office reported.

Passengers in Linden’s vehicle were Michaela L. Linden, 45; Taylor N. Linden, 19; Catherine L. Linden, 10; and Caroline P. Linden, 15; all of Sandusky.

Madeline E. Bowen, 12, of Ontario, Ohio, was riding with Houk in the Sierra.

A spokewoman at Galion Hospital said none of the people involved in the crash were listed as patients on Sunday evening.

The crash remains under investigation.
