Saturday evening, Philip Lorcher, 45, of Westwind Drive, walked through an unlocked door in the first block of South Garden St., where he introduced himself to one of the residents, Norwalk police Capt. Eric Hipp said.

The resident showed him the door and then called police. Officers later found Lorcher wandering on East Main Street.

He was charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct intoxicated, and was soon released to his mother. \

Norwalk police handled three other similar incidents involving other people and other homes in recent months.

“The best advice, I would say, is lock your doors,” Hipp said.
