Richard Hayward, 55, Luckey, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 west on Duff Wash Road when he failed to yield for a stop sign and drove into the path of another pick up driving north on Ohio 19 at 6:14 p.m.

The second truck, driven by John Sutton, 51, of Oak Harbor, a 2000 F-250, collided with Hayward's vehicle and both trucks went off the northwest side of the intersection, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Hayward, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sutton, and an unidentified female passenger, both suffered injuries in the crash and were flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.

Hayward's body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
