50 years ago, 1963: The Sandusky Library Bookmobile was scheduled to visit 10 schools in Erie County this week in 1963. Perkins, Mills Elementary, Holy Angels, Margaretta and Birmingham were scheduled to be visited by the Bookmobile.
25 years ago, 1988: The U.S. was falling behind other countries in the race to build advanced high-definition television, a shortcoming that could cost thousands of jobs, congressmen warned. Japan and Europe had leaped out as frontrunners in developing advanced systems.
10 years ago, 2003: A Sandusky man was barred from Lowe's after causing a scene about returning two vacuum cleaners. The man was arrested after threatening a Lowe's employee over the telephone then going into the store with the vacuums to return them. He did not have a receipt.
