50 years ago, 1963: Two coal miners trapped 300 feet underground in a mine cave-in, were rescued after 14 days. A third miner was still trapped elsewhere in the mine, rescue attempts were continuing.
25 years ago, 1988: The medical examiner who prepared the autopsy report on Elvis Presley in 1977 said the king of rock 'n' roll was dead, and not coming back, despite rumors that he was still alive.
10 years ago, 2003: The "Ultimate Showman" Wayne Newton, put on the glitz for a sellout crowd at the Sandusky State Theatre. Newton was the kick-off concert to the theater's 75th Anniversary season.
