MLK ‘I have a dream’ march set for Saturday

Jmarsion Owens will speak King’s iconic words, which the Civil Rights leader delivered on Aug. 28, 1963, in front of an estimated 250,000 supporters.

The Sandusky NAACP is hosting the local march. For information contact Jim Jackson, president of the Sandusky Unit of the NAACP, at 419-625-5056 or at 419-370-6806.

Jackson and Sandusky resident Dan Leavall will be the guests at noon Friday on Between the Lines Live at sanduskyregister.com, to talk about the march, the commemoration and how Sandusky has changed during the last five decades.



• WHAT: “I have a dream” commemoration

• WHEN: 11 a.m. Saturday

• WHERE: March begins at Second Baptist Church, 315 Decatur St., and will proceed to the gazebo in Washington Park, downtown Sandusky.
