50 years ago, 1963: Robert Ashton, Sandusky, was to compete in the NRA National Highpower Rifle Championships held at Camp Perry. More than 2,600 shooters would be vying for honors.
25 years ago, 1988: A federal judge dismissed fraud charges against televangelist Oral Roberts, who was being sued by a woman who expected him to heal her with faith. The judge said the woman, who sued for $15 million, did not have a case under Ohio Law.
10 years ago, 2003: Arnold Schwarzenegger jumped into the race for California governor, seeking to replace Democrat Gray Davis in a recall. Schwarzenegger said it was the toughest decision he'd made since deciding to get a bikini wax in 1978.
