50 years ago, 1963: Comedian Jackie Gleason, 'The Great One,' put his home up for sale. The asking price of $800,000 included two curved bars, an enormous round bed, one TV set looking down on the bed, a movie screen, one glass enclosed floor-to-celiing cylinder tub, and marble dance floor, a billiard table and 250 tons of carrera marble.
25 years ago, 1988: Tony Pulizzi, Sandusky, was picked as a member of the Fred Waring's U.S. Chorus. The chorus was made up of 100 top young voices from across America.
10 years ago, 2003: The city of Sandusky revamped its political signage laws just in time for campaign season. Signs can now be posted anytime as long as they are removed or replaced every 45 days.
