50 years ago, 1963: More than 400 Girl Scouts of all ages participated in a day camp conducted in Pelton Park off Hull Road in Perkins Township. Brownies, Girl Scouts and Senior Scouts took part in crafts, skills and tree, plant and animal identification.
25 years ago, 1988: At the Movies: "Arthur 2, On the Rocks" starring Dudley Moore, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" with Bob Hoskins, "The Great Outdoors" with Dan Aykroyd and John Candy, and "Coming to America" starring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall.
10 years ago, 2003: Katie McBride, 13, was fishing for bluegill at Resthaven Wildlife Area near Castalia when she reeled in a small alligator. No stranger to fishing challenges, she once caught a 23.5 inch sheephead, winning the 1999 "Fish Ohio" tournament. She turned the small gator over to "Back to the Wild."
