50 years ago, 1963: U.S. District Judge J. Robert Martin ordered the University of South Carolina to admit Negro students, and ordered the state to admit Negroes to all of its 26 state-operated parks by mid-September.
25 years ago, 1988: The last Playboy Club in the U.S. was slated to close its doors by the end of the month, announced the Lansing Hilton Inn, which housed the club. A bunny reunion was planned to celebrate the end of a bunny era.
10 years ago, 2003: Two sisters who frequented the bargain chain store Filene's Basement were sent a letter telling them due to the excessive amount of returns and complaints, they were no longer welcome in the stores.
