50 years ago, 1963: Erie County Commission met behind closed doors to discuss the proposed Route 6-2 bypass. The session was expected to produce a unified plan for Erie County's participation in the highway project.
25 years ago, 1988: Parched crops and lawns breathed a sigh of relief as the first thunderstorms of the season brought much needed rain to the area. More than an inch of rain was reported in pockets of Erie County.
10 years ago, 2003: An Elyria woman was accused to placing marijuana under stamps and mailing them to an inmate at Lorain Correctional institution. Investigators intercepted 10 letters mailed to the inmate with less than one gram of marijuana under each stamp.
