50 years ago, 1963: Cedar Point property owners strongly opposed to a 50-acre parking lot in some of their backyards, told the City Planning and Zoning Commission they will take the matter to Common Pleas Court, and won't stop until it's settled by the Ohio Supreme Court.
25 years ago, 1988: Sandusky's community theater, Harlequins, won high honors at the Ohio Community Theatre Association's regional competition, beating out 14 other theaters. Actors Jack Mulaney and Jim Brokaw received the award of excellence in ensemble acting and Joyce Mulaney won an excellent rating in directing.
10 years ago, 2003: Brandon Rockwell, 13, was one of 28 students from Northwest Ohio picked to visit the United Kingdom as part of a two-week student ambassador program. The Perkins boy would visit British Parliament and rappel down a castle wall.
