50 years ago, 1963: A new generation of super-rockets, capable of lifting a convoy of four multi-ton spaceships into orbit, could be ready for a manned expedition to Mars in 1975, an industrial space technologist proclaimed.
25 years ago, 1988: A portion of Sandusky's outgoing mail went up in smoke after someone put a cigarette or match in three of the five courtesy boxes located in the parking lot of the Sandusky Post Office. More than 100 pieces of mail were destroyed.
10 years ago, 2003: The Tony Awards applauded "Hairspray" eight times, winning best musical, best actor, best actress and best supporting actress. "Take Me Out" won best play, "Long Day's Journey Into Night" won best revival of a play or musical.
