A Fremont toddler was killed Saturday when his father accidentally drove over him with a vehicle, according to a news release from the police department.
Juliano Stockman-Patino, 22 months, died from his injuries after the 9:04 p.m. incident.
His father, Juan Patino, 23, was leaving a residence in the 600 block of S. Front St. when the child wandered into the path of the 2004 Lincoln Navigator as it was pulling away.
Fremont police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
The last part of the investigation to be completed is a diagram of the scene, police Chief Tim Wiersma said.
"It's just a tragedy," he said.
The child's body was sent to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.
