50 years ago, 1963: From advice column "Polly's Pointers:" Here's a tip for packing away those wool and cashmere sweaters for summer. After laundering, rinse in colander, let the heavy water run off to prevent stretching, then roll in turkish towels to dry. When completely dry, roll sweaters and insert in clean, glass quart jars to keep the moths out.
25 years ago, 1988: Over 5,000 persons showed up for the grand opening of Shooters. Tom Snavely, head of Snavely Construcrtion said he was surprised so many showed up for the festivities.
10 years ago, 2003: Bellevue native Brad Snyder was a first-round pick by the Cleveland Indians in the amateur draft. A junior at Ball State, the outfielder was shocked and excited to learn he was selected with the 18th overall pick by Cleveland Indians organization.
