Veterans who want to learn about how to get help from local agencies are invited to a veterans stand down event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the pavilion of the Ohio Veterans Home.
Tuesday's event will feature information on obtaining food, shelter and clothing; health screenings, and counseling on obtaining veterans benefits and Social Security. There will also be referrals on housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.
Stand downs are collaborative events put on by the Department of Veterans Administration, community agencies and other groups who serve the homeless. Tuesday's stand down is provided by the Community Action Commission of Erie, Huron and Richland Counties, Inc.
