The two men were last seen the area of western Lake Erie in the vicinity of Monroe, Mich.
"We're asking the public's assistance," said USCG Petty Officer Levi Read. "Anyone with information should please contact us."

The men regularly fished in the area of Lunar Pier.
"They were supposed to return home about 10 p.m. and they did not," Read said.
Several Coast Guard boats and winged-assistance from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection are participating in the search.
Missing are: Godfried McKinney, age 54, of Southfield, Mich.; and Kendrick Covington, 64, of Detroit, according to a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard's Ninth District in Detroit.
The release provided the following:
At about 4:45 a.m., a watchstander at Coast Guard Station Toledo, Ohio, was notified of missing persons by the Monroe County dispatch via telephone. The Monroe County dispatch was contacted by McKinney's wife who reporter her husband and Covington overdue from a fishing trip, stating she hadn't seen him since about 9 a.m. A SAR controller contacted Covington's wife, who had not seen him since about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and expected him home at 9:30 or 10 p.m.
Currently searching are: an aircrew aboard an MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, on Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Mt. Clemens, Mich.; a boatcrew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Station Toledo; and another crew from the station searching from land.
Customs and Border Protection will be assisting with a search plane out of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, but it has not arrived on scene yet.
The two men launched from the Front Street launch ramp in Monroe. The Monroe County dispatch confirmed that McKinney's truck and boat trailer were still in the parking lot. The two men were fishing aboard a 14-foot beige and white jon boat and normally fish in the vicinity of Luna Pier and the power plant.
