50 years ago, 1963: State Highway Department announced that nearly $4.5 million was allocated for priority highway construction in Erie County under the state's newest "five year plan." Main projects were the Sandusky by-pass extension and the main channel of the Sandusky Bay Bridge.
25 years ago, 1988: Jan Watt of J.T. Watt and Associates, received the National Quality Award and the National Sales Achievement Award from Northwestern Mutual Life Equity Services, Inc. Watt was field director and responsible for recruiting new agents for the company.
10 years ago, 2003: After forcing down cooked hog spleens, cow brains and pig snouts, fear factors contestants Robert Wainwright and Julie Starcher smiled triumphantly after being named Sandusky Clear Channel Radio Fear Factor champions.
