A slew of upcoming cuts approved by Bowling Green State University officials will leave BGSU Firelands virtually unaffected.
Only two of 73 total reductions will occur at the branch campus, according to a statement released Friday by Rodney Rogers, main campus senior vice president for Academic Affairs and provost. No faculty members will lose their jobs, as both cuts will result from not filling vacant positions.
Overall, 43 faculty members will lose their jobs, according to the statement. The remainder of the reductions occurred by not replacing positions left vacant by retirements or resignations.
The cuts will save the university about $3.2 million, main campus spokesman Dave Kielmeyer said.
