50 years ago, 1963: President and Mrs. Kennedy announced they were expecting their third child in august 1963, and were elated. The First Lady, 33, was in good health but would cancel her official activities.
25 years ago, 1988: A sealed indictment was returned against billionaire hotel magnates Harry and Leona Helmsley on charges of state and federal income tax evasion. The couple cut short a Barbados vacation to surrender for arraignment in state Supreme Court in Manhattan.
10 years ago, 2003: For the second year in a row, Perkins Township Police Department entered into an agreement with Roeder Harley-Davidson & Buell to provide the township with motorcycles. In 2003 they had five, compared to two the township used in 2002.
